About the NCS Reston Branch

The National Capital Section's Reston Branch hosts regular monthly technical meetings at ASCE Headquarters in Reston at lunch time. Formerly a Committee of the Section, it was, in late October 2017,  anointed a Branch in recognition of its successful track record of serving members from the Reston area with well-attended PDH and networking opportunities. Several Branch Officer positions have opened up for our member volunteers to fill. Take advantage of these emerging leadership opportunities!

Registration has closed for this past event.

Per Federal regulations, in-service bridges are to be inspected at least once every two years to identify, document, and report visible damage and signs of deterioration. Such information is then used to inform load rating analysis to assess operational safety of the inspected bridges.

Federal, State, and local transportation authorities and stakeholders commonly rely on load rating results, in conjunction with inspection data, to support decision making processes to manage their bridge inventory.

This presentation will discuss the importance of refined analysis and its potential to assist bridge owners in executing their asset management policies, including but not limited to posting, capital programming, and resource allocations for maintenance and rehabilitation of the national transportation infrastructure.
