Jun 4, 2020: Legislative and Regulatory Initiatives on PFAS
Click HERE to register for this month's EWRI-NCS monthly webinar series.
Please join EWRI virtually as we kickoff our monthly webinar series featuring expert speakers discussing topics relating to water and the environment. Our initial webinar will focus on the latest development dealing with perfluorinated compounds in Congress and at the EPA.
Guest speakers Nate Norris and Chris Moody from AWWA will discuss Legislative and Regulatory Initiatives on PFAS. Many chemicals in this group, including perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), have been a concern because they do not break down in the environment, can move through soils and contaminate drinking water sources, and they build up (bioaccumulate) in fish and wildlife. In February 2020, EPA announced a proposed decision to regulations just two PFAS chemicals in drinking water - PFOA and PFOS.
