The Purple Line, a Light-Rail Transit (LRT) project, is a vital connection that knits together diverse communities, facilitates easier commutes, and contributes to a greener environment by encouraging public transit use.
The Purple Line offers unique opportunities to connect to key destinations from 21 stations embedded in our community; Starting from Bethesda, running East under the capital beltway and stopping at New Carrolton.
This presentation will be delivered at the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. It will cover Project Delivery Model, Budget, History, Benefits, and Details (Alignment, special features, etc.).
About the Speaker
Daniel Norman, P.E., Chief Technical Officer for the Purple Line Project
Mr. Norman is a seasoned expert in Public-Private Partnerships (P3) with 25 Years of extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects. Mr. Norman earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, Virginia, Georgia, and Maryland.
Mr. Norman’s expertise spans large-scale projects, from highway and tunnel construction to monumental infrastructure expansions, ensuring that all projects meet stringent schedules, quality standards, and operational requirements. Currently, Mr. Norman serves as the Chief Technical Officer for the Purple Line Project.
His notable project experience includes:

- Elizabeth River Tunnels Project (P3)
- The Downtown / Midtown Tunnel project (P3)
