Concrete Deterioration and Protection

Dr. Brian Pailes will give a presentation regarding deterioration and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete infrastructure. Brian will provide a short overview of the corrosion process in reinforced concrete along with various technologies used in the assessment of deterioration mechanisms. The focus of the presentation will be regarding various projects that Vector Corrosion Services has been involved with, in the D.C. metro area. These projects include non-destructive testing and material sampling of the SW-SE Freeway, I-395 HOV, cathodic protection of the Arlington Memorial Bridge, and a D.C. parking structure.
