What Are Centennial Tours?

The National Capital Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers is celebrating its centennial (100-th) anniversary in Fiscal Year 2016 (October 2015 through September 2016) by offering its members and guests an opportunity to take a guided tour of some of the most magnificent civil engineering wonders located in the National Capital region served by the Section. Eight trips are planned from October 2015 through September 2016. Come join us! Join us for a walking/driving tour of some well-known and maybe not-so-well known transportation-related structures that can be found in the Palisades area of northwest Washington, DC and Montgomery County, Maryland. Our stops will include C&O Canal, B&O Railroad Truss Bridge and Dalecarlia Tunnel, and Capital Transit Streetcar Bridge.The tour will end with lunch at the Irish Inn at Glen Echo.

When: Wednesday, November 18, 2015. 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM.

Where: Meet at the parking area along the Clara Barton Parkway just north of Chain Bridge (Lat/Long:  38.932 N, -77.113 W)
